Absolute loyalty, work around the clock and the ability to change the world with a press of a button. Those aren’t the traits of some military man who controls a nuclear arsenal. It’s what is demanded of the world’s top bankers. Rainer Voss, the star of this film, used to be one of those bankers. He sits in an abandoned building that belongs to one of Frankfurt’s great banks and gives a firsthand account of what goes on in the inner sanctums of our capitalist society. With almost offhand intensity, he speaks not only about the economic system, decisions, moves and private interests that are never revealed to the public, but also about the honey trap created by the urge to profit more and more money and to take risks that could topple entire companies, governments and countries. He talks about life inside a bubble of wealth and power, which was suddenly popped one day, when he was fired.
