Mexico 2017, 74 min, Spanish, Hebrew & English subtitles

In Mexico, abductions, attacks, and murders are never personal. That’s why none of the interviewees reveal their faces. Behind identical masks that cover all but the mouth, eyes and tears, victims, family and perpetrators relinquish their personal identities, becoming the face of Mexico, a culture in which brutality is the norm. Although fear gives everyone a reason to hide, they don’t give up their right to speak. The masks create a “diabolical freedom” that allows them to reveal their feelings, attempting to understand the role imposed on each of them in this cruel game. Together they create an unforgettable, chilling, and heroic social document.
