United Kingdom 2018, 135 min, English, Hebrew subtitles
An introverted white boy who had grown up in the sleepy south of England, Eric Clapton was not the obvious candidate for bringing the Blues to the UK. But the pain and abandonment that he’d endured as a child changed everything. In his words: “Music saved me. It took the pain away”.
The dramatic life story of one of the greatest guitarists of all time stars some of the world’s top musicians (The Beatles, Mick Jagger, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King). Told in Clapton’s own words, it is a story of desperate love, betrayal, passion, a long struggle with alcohol and drug addictions and a terrible personal tragedy. Clapton’s personal commentary and insights explain how he survived these hardships and picked up his guitar again.
