Germany / Italy 2017, 90 min, Italian, Hebrew & English subtitles
It all started with a weird dream that called the director, Diego Pascal Panarello, to leave his home in Sicily and travel to Yakutsk in Siberia. Connecting the two places was the bizarre yet captivating sound of a small musical instrument: the mouth harp. Diego had never played one, but the sound awakened memories and dreams in him, and it turned out to be quite popular in Siberia. Mouth harps are thought to be magical there, and legend has it that one day a wise man will play one and find happiness. Panarello starts his journey heartbroken and penniless, but the road brings him encounters with extraordinary people who change his life. Oscillating between reality and fiction, truth and hallucination, the film features animations and stunning views.
