Marley

United Kingdom / United States 2012, 144 min, English and Jamaican, Hebrew subtitles

He loved women, marijuana and football and was one of the prominent supporters of the Rastafari movement. But it was his love for music that turned him into a legend in his own time. Bob Marley’s tremendous influence as a musician and social-political prophet is a unique phenomenon in the history of contemporary music. In the most comprehensive film that has been made to date, including revealing interviews with his wives, several of his 12 children and others who knew him well, award-winning director Kevin Macdonald (“Life in a Day”, “One Day in September") presents the story of Marley, who gave birth to a culture, language and new movements whose influence continues to reverberate even years after his death.
