Gottfried Böhm may be 93, but he is still the “Boss.” He’s the head of a multigenerational architectural firm considered one the most prestigious in the world. His three sons are successful architects in their own right, but they still wait anxiously for his approval and plead for his affection. The passion they share for the arts and creativity hasn’t skipped anyone in this family. It is the basis of the world that they all love, even if the unrest beneath the surface occasionally bubbles over. Elisabeth, the matriarch, never came to terms with giving up her own career to raise a family. Her sons, Stephan, Peter, and Paul, are still searching for unique modes of self-expression in an effort to extricate themselves from their father’s shadow. But Gottfried refuses to loosen the reins. This intimate film reveals complex relationships in a single family, set against the backdrop of original architectural masterpieces designed by the Böhms.
