A Special Program Curated by Alex Farfuri and Michal Weits

In an age when Instagram and other social media platforms are integral to our daily lives, we are constantly exposed to unique, unedited narratives in our Stories and Highlights. As viewers, what happens to us when we choose to see and analyze these narratives through a documentary lens? And how does the tension between our small, personal screens and the grand cinematic experience affect filmmaking?

For this special evening, we have prepared a meticulously curated selection of Instagram Highlights from the profiles of various creators—individuals who may not even realize they have inadvertently crafted powerful, personal, and authentic short films through their Instagram presence.

The evening will begin with insights from creator and curator Alex Farfuri, followed by a candid conversation with creators navigating the intersection of social media and documentary filmmaking: how Instagram Stories become cinematic raw materials, why a feed can sometimes be a great screenplay, and how social networks have fundamentally changed the documentary filmmaking playbook and the ways we narrate and consume reality.
