When his grandmother resolves to end her life and that’s that, her mind made up, come hell or high water, Sasha decides to off her himself, and to do it in style, on camera. He wants his wonderful, funny, lucid, and dearly beloved grandmother to leave this world like the star she truly was, so he directs her in a vibrant array of genres, a colorful, humorous celebration, and between takes, the two talk openly about their relationship. They laugh in the face of death, determined to make a film that is anything but a tearjerker—and they succeed. Almost.
