Ukraine / Romania / Croatia 2024, 78 min, Ukrainian, Hebrew & English subtitles

In 2018, when the previous military conflict between Ukraine and Russia had ended, Serhiy returned home after three years of combat. Now, he faces the task of reconnecting with his wife and three sons, but the lingering echoes of war and a pervasive unease overwhelm him in life’s small moments: the mayhem of three kids cramped in a small apartment, the frustration of food losing its flavor, the tension and anticipation around the upcoming birth of a baby girl. In the evenings, beset by flashbacks of buried memories, he confides in the filmmaker, who shares her own experiences of her now-ex-partner, who also came back from the front changed. This is a raw, insightful, and acutely relevant observation of the damage inflicted by a prolonged war on families and individuals alike.
