Poland 2024, 25 min, Polish, Hebrew & English subtitles
In his youth, the filmmaker regarded his uncle—a mechanic-turned-policeman, a capable sailor, and a source of wise counsel—as his mentor. This all changed when Leszek abandoned his relationships to dedicate himself entirely to the care of his dying mother. Through intimate-yet-detached observation, devoid of judgment and tinged with a certain awe, the nephew’s candid and poignant film attempts to comprehend the psychological toll exacted on someone who dedicates his life to a loved one completely.
The screenings of this film have been made possible through the generous support of the Polish Institute Tel Aviv.
