Romania / Germany / Netherlands 2024, 82 min, Italian and Romanian, Hebrew & English subtitles

After many years of estrangement, an investigative journalist and documentarian is called to help her Moldovan father, who is being abused by his employer in Italy. Alongside her partner Radu (director of Acasa, My Home, screened at Docaviv 2020), Lina supports her father in uncovering the abuse and pursuing legal action. However, a disturbing truth soon emerges: Her father is himself an abusive and controlling man who struck fear in his wife and daughters. The reunion triggers an honest and powerful exploration of the generational cycle of toxic masculinity in the filmmaker’s family, prompting a reckoning with past grievances while new life grows inside her.

The screenings of this film have been made possible through the generous support of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv.
