Goulven’s typewriter is broken. A disaster, since he uses it to type out his poetry. So, he enlists two volunteers who take it apart under his watchful and worried eye and put it back together, without knowing quite how they did it. Next, they visit Muriel, whose cherished CD player has died. A real blow, as music is her happy place, perhaps her only one. The duo must try to fix that, too. And so their day unfolds, Philibert’s camera following them through more Parisian homes of people navigating mental health challenges, revisiting the subjects of his previous film On the Adamant (which won the Golden Bear in Berlin two years ago). These human, comical, and surprising encounters coalesce into cinematic moments of warmth and compassion.
