They are supposed to express other people’s memories and feelings, but not their own. Three interpreters at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia talk about how they cope with the witnesses’ testimonies, which are strikingly similar to their own experiences.

Director: Eliane Esther Bots

Eliane Esther Bots (1986, NL) graduated from the Master of Film at the Netherlands Film Academy. Her films screened at IDFA, Berlinale, Cinema du Reel, New York Film Festival, International short film festival Oberhausen, Go Short Nijmegen. She is currently a lecturer at the University of the Arts Utrecht.
