Valeria, one of the last remaining residents of a Transylvanian mountain village, lives alone with a dog and a cow. Years ago, there was life here, but Ceausescu’s copper mines have flooded the fields, the homes, and even the church with toxic water. On the verge of leaving her home forever, Valeria has a hard time saying goodbye.

Director: Matthäus Wörle

Matthäus Wörle studied journalism at the University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. Then he got a videojournalism scholarship from the Mediencampus Bayern. His following professional positions took place at Süddeutsche Zeitung, Bayerischer Rundfunk and nautilusfilm GmbH. These days, he works as a freelance video journalist and is studying documentary film at the HFF Munich.
