United States 2022, 97 min, English, Hebrew & English subtitles

What happens to people whose dramatic life events are captured in documentaries? How do they cope with the exposure? Do the films made about them help them recover from trauma, or do they only intensify and exacerbate the crisis? This film examines how the rising popularity of documentary films and series affects the dynamics between documentary filmmakers and their subjects. The two filmmakers meet with people who became celebrities, often to their great surprise, after having their lives laid bare before millions of viewers around the world: Mukunda Angulo from The Wolfpack, Margaret Ratliff from The Staircase, Jesse Friedman from Capturing the Friedmans, and others. What was the power dynamic like between the camera and those it captured? Did they choose this exposure? Did their lives change for the better? The film raises moral and practical questions that every viewer should think about.
