Kevin Macdonald was born in Glasgow in 1967. He has made numerous award winning
documentaries and feature films, including One Day in September ( Oscar winner 1999),
Touching the Void (BAFTA for Best British film 2003), The Last King of Scotland ( Oscar and
BAFTA winner 2006), Life in a Day (2010 and 2020), State of Play, and bio-docs Skyladder,
Marley and Whitney. He has also worked as a producer on numerous documentaries
including Senna, The Rescue and Rebellion. His most recent feature film as a director, The
Mauritanian was nominated for 5 BAFTAs including best film in 2021.
